The Taming of the Few: Wild Plants in Your Garden
While most gardeners expend a lot of effort in keeping “outsider” plants on their side of the fence and the “garden” plants exclusively on the other, there are a number of native or naturalized “weeds” worthy of consideration to be full-fledged members of your personal “garden club.” Come learn about the wild plants that can add diversity to your plot. The rewards include new and interesting greens (both cooked and raw), tubers to dig up or pluck off a vine, roots to be roasted for coffee, and berries so high in vitamin C that they have been known to kill flu viruses. You can also grow your own medicines that can resolve insect stings, inflammation, poison ivy rash, chigger itch, and excessive bruising. Caleb Arnold will be presenting this program on behalf of Mark Warren.

Family Herbal Playshop!

3rd Friday of each month
In a collaboration with Ever Wilder, Stellar Roots Herb Farm is hosting a family herbal playshop one Friday per month on the farm! Our hope is to build community and inspire budding herbalists and farmers of all ages. Get hands-on, seasonal experience utilizing fresh, vibrant herbs for well-being, and see the operations of a working herb farm. Playshops will include herbal activities, from plant identification to harvesting and making kitchen herbal preparations and more. Each month, Caleb will lead the group in an herbal extraction or preparation that often includes take-home remedies. Also get access to the farm store during this monthly visit, including fresh Certified Organic veggies, herbal tea blends, fresh and dry herbs and more.
All ages welcome, but a parent or guardian must be present for kids under 16. Join our email list linked on home page for start date and registration announcements!
